This qualification has been approved in terms of the new Higher Education Qualification Sub-Framework (HEQSF).The Master of Laws in Labour Law is in charge of providing students with advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in this field of labour law and helping them to create the capacity for independent research, developing the skills necessary to solve all the problems related to the field.Admission Requirements
According to the Senate, candidates shall be admitted to the studies for the Master of Law in Labour Law degree only if they:
- have previously obtained a Bachelor of Law or an equivalent degree deemed by the Senate
- have obtained an average mark of at least 60% in the aforementioned degree
- have been approved as candidates for the Master of Laws/Magister Legum (Labour Law) (coursework and research) degree by the Faculty of Law Postgraduate Studies Committee, on the recommendation of the Head of the Department following a selection process approved by the Faculty of Law Management Committee.
Selection Procedure
Only a limited number of students will be admitted to the Labour Law programme, which are determined each year by the Faculty, depending on many considerations. After the closing date, a committee will consider all the applications and compile a list of candidates from qualified applicants on the basis of academic merit and subject to the number of available places. The candidates will be chosen according to their achievement of the minimum requirement average of 60% for the degree of Bachelor of Law, although this does not guarantee a place on the degree programme. The Head of Department of Mercantile Law shall recommend the list of candidates to the Faculty of Law Postgraduate Studies Committee for consideration and approval.
