The University of Pretoria, commonly known as UP, Tuks, or Tukkies, is a multi-campus public research university in Pretoria.

In 2008, the university was responsible for giving masters and doctorate degrees to 15.8% of all postgraduate candidates in South Africa. This is the highest percentage of all South African universities.
