Linguistics is the scientific study of language. It seeks to provide the terminology and techniques for understanding the structure of any language. This Bachelor of Arts degree will ask students to explore important themes such as identity construction, social and cultural organization, variation and change, multilingualism, institutions and power, as well as language patterns in texts and discourses.
The knowledge that linguists are equipped with is highly relevant to studies in several disciplines including, but not limited to, anthropology, education, philosophy, sociology, psychology, law, translation studies and computer science.
