Portuguese is also an African language, the second most spoken and widely used in Southern Africa, supported by the vibrant cultures and literatures of the five Portuguese Speaking Countries in Africa (Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau and Sao Tome and Principe), in Europe (Portugal), in America (Brazil) and in Asia (East Timor, Macau, Goa).
There is great potential for Portuguese speakers in Africa mainly due to the proximity of Mozambique and Angola. There are opportunities in every sphere of activity such as hospitality, insurance, journalism and management. In addition, the request for Portuguese teaching and translating in the SADC region as well as in West African states is on the increase.It is the working language of numerous international organizations.
