At postgraduate level, our objective involves maintaining a high level of scientific excellence in botanical research with specific emphasis on the role of plants in the structure and functioning of terrestrial and marine (including estuarine) communities and ecosystems.The curriculum consists of a dissertation in a chosen field of study that has been approved by the Department.Candidates also have to present at least one seminar on an approved topic, as well one article for publication in a recognised journal.The Department may prescribe additional courses in Botany or in any other subject as required.
